Spinning Nanoparticles Impacted by C-shock: Implications for Radio-millimeter Emission from Star-forming Regions

چکیده

We investigate the impact of anomalous microwave emission (AME) on radio-millimeter spectral energy distribution for three typical interstellar medium (ISM) conditions surrounding star-forming regions -- cold neutral medium, warm and photodissociation region by comparing emissivities major contributors: free-free, thermal dust emission, AME. In particular, spinning nanoparticles (i.e., potential carriers AME), we consider a known grain destruction mechanism due to centrifugal force from spin-up processes caused collisions between grains supersonic streams in magnetized shock (C-shock). demonstrate that, if ISM magnetic field is impacted C-shock developed supernova explosion early phase massive star-formation ($\lesssim 10$ Myr), AME can be significantly or almost entirely suppressed relative free-free continuum tensile strength small enough. This study may shed light explaining rare observations extragalactic preferentially observed star clusters suggest scenario "the rise fall AME" accordance with temporal evolution regions.

Gamma rays from star-forming regions

Star-forming regions have been tentatively associated with gamma-ray sources since the early days of the COS B satellite. After the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory, the statistical evidence for such an association has became overwhelming. Recent results from Cherenkov telescopes indicate that some high-energy sources are produced in regions of active star formation like Cygnus OB2 and Westerlund ...

Survey of intermediate/high-mass star-forming regions at centimeter and millimeter wavelengths

Aims. The goal of this work is to characterize the millimeter and centimeter properties of intermediate/high-mass young stellar objects (YSOs) in order to search for any evolutionary trend. Methods. We carried out observations at 1.2 mm with the IRAM 30 m telescope, and at 3.6 and 1.3 cm with the VLA toward a sample of 11 luminous (> 103 L⊙) IRAS sources classified as high-mass protostellar obj...

Ices in Star-Forming Regions: First Results from VLT-ISAAC

The first results from a VLT-ISAAC program on the infrared spectroscopy of deeply-embedded young stellar objects are presented. The advent of 8-m class telescopes allows high S/N spectra of low-luminosity sources to be obtained. In our first observing run, lowand medium-resolution spectra have been measured toward a dozen objects, mostly in the Vela and Chamaeleon molecular clouds. The spectra ...
